As we near the end of Women’s Week 2018, we spoke to Heather D. of Late Risers’ Club and Backpacks and Magazines for a featured show interview! You can hear Heather on the air hosting LRC today from 10am-noon, or every Saturday from 8-9pm hosting Backpacks and Magazines.

Women’s Week runs from March 5th-11th, featuring a week of women-centered programming in recognition of International Women’s Day 2018.

Today marks the start of Women’s Week, WMBR’s celebration of International Women’s Day 2018! We’re kicking off the event with a featured show interview with Sara, host of 1001 and resident WMBR storyteller. You can hear Sara on the air tonight 3/5 from 10-11pm!

From March 5th-11th, WMBR will be celebrating International Women‘s Day 2018 with Women’s Week! The week will feature diverse programming curated by individual DJs, ranging from celebrating women artists to discussing of women‘s issues. We’re also holding an on-campus panel about media, activism and social justice in collaboration with MIT SPXCE at 7pm on Wednesday 3/7 – learn more here! You can engage with us using the #WomensWeekWMBR hashtag or by calling in at 617-253-8810.

This is the second time we’re running Women’s Week, following our IWD 2017 celebration in March last year. However, WMBR has a history of celebrating IWD, starting in 1978!
