Our Ampersand Concert Series continues TONIGHT, September 12th!

 

Tonight at 8:00, we’re continuing our concert series with a variety show!  We will be hosting acoustic and lo-fi acts from MIT and the community with acts: Ken Field, The Peter Godart Trio, Brendan Little, Hoonah, Charlie Kohlhase and Curt Newton, and Jeff Breeze.  There will be jazz, folk, acoustic rock, and so much more!  Don’t miss this, this will be a truly unique, mind-blowing experience!

We will be at the Bartos Theater (E15-070) – doors open at 7:30 pm.  Come early and see the List Visual Arts Center galleries upstairs until 8pm.  Be there or be lame!

Get your tickets through CopyTech here!  $3 for MIT affiliates (students, staff, faculty, etc), and just $5 for the general public!

Our Ampersand concert series starts on August 15th at 8:00 pm!  The show starts at Bartos Theatre at 8:00 pm; theatre located at: E15-070, 20 Ames Street, Cambridge, MA 02142.

Ampersand is a new concert series put together by WMBR&List Visual Arts Center to bring music and visual art together.

The concert series debuts with headlining artist Julia Kent, an electroacoustic cellist from NYC that uses looped and layered cello recordings to explore the relationship between human creations and nature. The opening artist will be Luke Damrosch, an electroacoustic percussionist and visual artist from Providence, RI. Ampersand is a new concert series put together by WMBR&List Visual Arts Center to bring music and visual art together. Julia Kent, born in Vancouver, is a cellist currently based in New York City.  She combines electronic aspects to her acoustic music to create a distinct, haunting element to her music. Her latest album, Character, was released this year, and follows her others releases Green and Grey (2011), Last Day In July (EP, 2010), and Delay (2007). Her compositions have been featured in the films This Must Be The Place, The Boxing Girls Of Kabul, and Trinidad. Luke Damrosch, born in Washington DC, earned his BFA in Jazz Performance from the New School in New York in 2008. He is currently based in Providence, RI.  Luke combines acoustic and electronic elements in his work, creating unique ambient tones that set him apart from most artists. He also incorporates visual aspects, both in video and in print, to many of his pieces, providing a transcendental experience.
